Tony Portwood
Senior Pensions Advisor
Tony's dual role is one of business development and pensions adviser and he is responsible for a portfolio of both SSAS and SIPP clients. His main duties include the provision of technical advice and support to IFAs and the provision of technical support and generic consultative advice to trustees in respect to benefit planning, retirement options and scheme funding; assisting third party advisers such as accountants and solicitors; attendance at trustees meetings; feasibility studies including property purchases and borrowings.
Career History
Tony has over 20 years' experience in the SSAS and SIPP market, having originally joined Pentech Limited in 1987 - prior to the company becoming part of the Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group. Throughout that period he has acted as Scheme Accountant and administrator and represented the independent trustee company. Prior to entering the pension industry he was with a large, internationally renowned, Accountancy practice.
